Introduction to Beekeeping – A day of lectures and a field day of demonstrations structured for the beginner beekeeper. Biology to Honey Extraction…You’ll learn everything to get you started in the wonderful world of Apis mellifera!

March 18th – Field Day: We will demonstrate how to light a smoker, do a hive inspection, install a package of honey bees, and more! We will email the location address in Toccoa a week prior to the Field Day to those who sign up for the event.
Here are your course options:
* 2-Day Course Only ($50) = perfect for someone who has decided they want to be a beekeeper and has access to honey bees and equipment already, or for someone who is interested in becoming a beekeeper and wants to learn the basics before jumping in. This is also a great refresher course for current beekeepers (remember – this course is only $30 for existing members!)
* 2-Day Course + Bees ($245) = a great deal for someone who already has hive equipment but needs the education and honey bees
* 2-Day Course + Bees + Hive Body ($385) = You’re ready to jump in! You want the knowledge, the honey bees and the basic hive body!
All 3 course options include a free 2023 membership to the Northeast Georgia Mountain Beekeepers Association. Once you have registered we will contact you with your payment options.
